DescriptionThe Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily
activities of the shop floor ensuring a quality product is being
produced. Assure compliance with Safety and Quality standards
throughout all operations and processes. This position is hands-on
where he or she will be expected to spend the majority of the shift
on the shop floor working with the Inspectors and Operators making
sure the proper production and quality procedures are being
followed. He or she will also be responsible for recommending and
implementing methods to improve quality in the department.Specific
Duties
- Monitor workplace operations for compliance with all
environmental, health, and safety rules and procedures and
immediately respond to any non-conformances.
- Perform risk assessments and consult with workers on
environmental, health, and safety issues.
- Ensure that all quality assurance programs and procedures are
being implemented correctly.
- Maintain day-to-day operation of in-process Quality to ensure
management goals and timelines are met.
- Develop the Q/C Inspectors by coaching and training.
- Responsible for corrective action of direct reports counseling,
disciplining, planning, monitoring, and appraising work
performance.
- Delegate and coordinate the day-to-day assignments to the Q/A
personnel.
- Maintain control up to the disposition of the non-conformance
material.
- Make sure all product produced meets quality standards.
- Document daily, all quality issues within the plant. Prepare
reports that will be distributed and/or posted weekly for
management to review.
- Train Operators on new quality procedures and standards.
Conduct random workstation audits to ensure that the Operators are
following procedures.
- Make sure that all inspection equipment is properly
calibrated.
- Communicate all quality issues to management.
- Be flexible to work opposite shifts as required.
- Communicate professionally with everyone in the plant,
including office employees and shop floor employees. Utilize a
translator to communicate with non-English speaking employees.
- Work overtime as required.

- Prior experience working in a quality inspection or supervisory
role is required.
- Previous experience working in a production environment
preferred.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing/assembly drawings
is preferred.
- Basic computer/PC skills are required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in ISO-certified organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work in an un-air-conditioned environment for a
minimum of 8 hours per day.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.Physical DemandsThe physical

- Safety Glasses conforming to ANSI Z87.1 or higher
