Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician II
Job Function: Responsible for supporting the Engineering Department to maintain facilities, utilities, and associated equipment for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

Scope of Job:
Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs facilities' mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies.
Develops, maintains, and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools.
Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies as required. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow.
Responsibilities may include:


  • Complete a wide array of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks per SOPs. Use diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to facilitate maintenance task completion, including inspecting and repairing pumps, fans, mechanical drives, seals, replacing components, etc.
  • Work in a highly regulated cGMP manufacturing facility, complete job-related training requirements on time, and follow all Safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance of all Utilities and Pharmaceutical Process equipment, including but not limited to Tablet Presses, Granulators, Tablet coaters, and Fluid Bed Processors. Building Management systems, Purified water systems, Compressed air systems, HVAC, and dust collection systems to be in good state of repair and working.
  • Perform calibration of pressure, temperature, and other simple gauges and also coordinate with outside calibration vendors to schedule calibration of more complicated instruments.
  • Perform and execute small building repairs like sheetrock spackling, painting, ceiling tiles replacement, light bulb replacement, etc.
  • Utilize skills and materials to achieve facilities maintenance objectives for preventive and breakdown maintenance; exchange timely information with Facilities Supervisor/Manager pertaining to job progress.
  • Create/close work orders for breakdown and preventive maintenance.
  • Support Supervisor/Manager to lead investigations or deviations as assigned through the use of root cause problem-solving tools and technical knowledge/understanding to identify and propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review trends and auto-generated reports from Building Management Systems (Client) as well as from chart recorders, pertaining to critical parameters. Review and respond to alarms.
  • Ensure the correct completion of all required documentation, paper or system based, associated with own work.
  • Ensure proper tidiness and cleanliness of the maintained equipment and area as well as his/her working space.
  • Ensure that the area or his/her assigned tools are kept in good shape in regard to their functionality and cleanliness.
  • Participate in programs and initiatives required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Follow procedures with clear instructions; seek clarification if not clear.
  • Perform work and assigned duties in a safe manner.


    Qualifications:


    • At least 3-5 years of experience or related experience, or 2 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment.
    • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Able to work independently within established procedure

      Education:


      • High School Diploma or an Associate's Degree.


        Physical Requirements:


        • Must be accessible to all laboratory, manufacturing, and office areas.
        • Must be able to wear the required PPR for entering the processing area.
        • Specific vision requirements include reading written documents and use of a computer
        • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
