Job Description:

The Sales Development Specialist, Inside Sales will be responsible for developing new markets in the Smart Materials market space via direct customer contact.--The SDS will be responsible for three main duties:--Manage a territory of small and/or tactical customers, aggressively follow up on all inbound customer contacts/touches with Croda Smart Materials, and engage in sales campaigns to contact leads, convert them to prospects, and mature them into Croda customers. Utilize & generate Croda's CRM, Call Reports, Sample & Internet Inquires, and Sales Pipeline to drive the sales process.--Perform all duties within the Company's safety, health and environmental regulations. All other duties as assigned by management.Key Duties:Proactively Manage a Territory of Small and/or Tactical customers* Manage a territory & collection of accounts through effective use of tele-sales, internet based contact and social media.* Will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth of assigned territory* Find and develop new contacts at existing accounts and prospects to penetrate the accounts and define unmet needs* Present latest products to existing accounts* Grow sales by maintaining and educating key contacts within customer's purchasing, technical and marketing departments* Field technical questions from customers* Quote and negotiate pricing at Accounts and Prospects* Contact 8-12 customers per day* Service existing customers with all pertinent Croda information on pricing, order status, technical data, regulatory information and other information required to satisfy the customer* Be prepared to prospect, carry out business development activity and manage a sales pipeline opportunity from concept to completion, which means taking the order.Expand Customer Base - by aggressively follow up on all inbound customer contacts/touches with Smart Materials * Sales lead generation and follow up to convert a lead to a prospect* Conduct tele-sales campaigns to gain market intelligence and--prospect candidates* Follow up all new leads for customers within market* Field sample requests from leads, prospect & customers new customer contacts* Establish new business relationships with all valid leads, prospects & new customer contacts* Be prepared to prospect, carry out business development activity and manage a sales pipeline opportunity from concept to completion, which means taking the order.Expand Customer Base - Engage in sales campaigns to that contact leads, convert them to prospects, who can mature into Croda customers * Execute proactive contact while carrying out Sales Campaigns* Sales Campaigns include: Launch Follow up; Sample List Follow up; Market Niche Targets; Industry/Segment* Be prepared to prospect, carry out business development activity and manage a sales pipeline opportunity from concept to completion, which means taking the order.Sales Administration * Input call reports daily and as calls are completed* Input sample request by end of day that call is made* Manage all leads, prospect and customer data in CRM* Input and Update Sales Pipeline for prospect and customer project start-progress-close (lead/prospect/account/sales/death)Experience required:* Minimum of 1-2 years' sales or marketing experience within the specialty chemical industry* Telemarketing and/or some customer care experience preferred* Must be self-motivated and work with little supervision.* Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required* Up to 10% travel requiredEducation / specialized training required: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other technical field. SAMA courses, Dale Carnegie courses in sales and public speaking. Proficiency in MS Office. Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language.
