About the Department The Clinical, Medical and Regulatory (CMR)

to make a difference? The Position The Director, Real World Science
leads the evidence strategy and execution programs through
delivering expertise on biological plausibility to support evidence
strategy, generation and insights across the portfolio to ensure
evidence planning and generation teams target evidence that aligns
to the understanding of the physiology, pathophysiology and
mechanism of action of Novo Nordisk compounds. The Director works
closely with Research & Development teams to translate the science
on disease and products to real world evidence and insights
generation. This individual will also educate the organization on
the basic sciences application to real world sciences. The Director
communicates the real-world science to enable a strong foundation
of biological plausibility into the strategy and evidence
generation to internal stakeholders in CDSE, CMR and more broadly
across NNI. This individual will grow NN expertise on basic science
to real world science both within NN as well as externally within
the broader scientific community. Relationships The Director, Real
World Science reports to the Senior Director of Real-World Data
Strategy, Informatics and Science. The Director is responsible for
the functional area leadership of real-world science within CDSR
through proactive stakeholder engagement and associated input into
real world evidence strategy, execution, communication to internal
and external stakeholders, and leadership. Essential Functions The
incumbent acts as a strategic partner and leads real world science
in the development of evidence planning, execution and synthesis
with NNI stakeholders across Clinical Data Science & Evidence as
well as within Clinical, Medical and Regulatory more broadly to
include NNI and US Operations. This individual will also work
closely with global colleagues in Research & Development The role
will lead the development and execution of real-world science
engagements across the portfolio to include all TAs The Director
serves as the function area leader in real world science by
providing in-house expertise on biological plausibility to support
evidence and insights generation across the entire Novo Nordisk
portfolio utilizing the Novo Nordisk R&D infrastructure as well
as working with external experts Leads and manages the execution of
the real world science strategy to drive biological plausibility in
real world evidence and insights planning, generation and synthesis
Develops and maintains stakeholder relationships to ensure optimal
evidence based on biological plausibility within the entire Novo
Nordisk organization Mentors junior staff Communicates real world
science from to internal stakeholders, customers and scientific
community Leadership in the implementation and further development
of real world science Acts as a key subject matter expert in basic
science applications to real world science functions related to
biological plausibility and provides consultation to / collaborates
with key internal and external stakeholders directly to provide
tangible solutions that are aligned to portfolio strategy Physical
Requirements 10-20% overnight travel required. Qualifications MD or
PhD Preferred or Master’s degree in appropriate field required
(e.g., physiology, pharmacology, biology) and at least 8-of
experience in translating biological plausibility to real world
sciences Experience in real world evidence Demonstrated prior
research accomplishment (e.g., publications in peer-reviewed
journals and presentations at scientific conferences) in both
biological sciences and real-world sciences Excellent leadership,
strong communication and critical thinking skills with keen
knowledge of real-world randomized designs Subject matter expertise
in biological plausibility applied to real world science Excellent
communication skills required Strong business acumen and a team
player Strong strategic thinking skills Novo Nordisk is currently
in the process of adjusting job titles globally. Please note that

recruitment process. The base compensation range for this position
is $181,670 to $317,920. Base compensation is determined based on a
number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company
bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk
offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles
depending on the position's level or other company factors.
