Technician at Allentown Animal Care plays a critical role in
overseeing and delivering high-quality veterinary support services
to ensure the health and well-being of animals under our care. This
position involves leading a team of veterinary technicians,
coordinating clinical procedures, and acting as a liaison between
veterinarians, staff, and pet owners. The Lead Vet Technician is
responsible for maintaining efficient workflow in the clinic,
ensuring compliance with medical protocols, and providing
mentorship and training to junior staff. This role demands a
combination of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and
compassionate animal care to optimize patient outcomes. Ultimately,
the Lead Vet Technician contributes significantly to the overall
success and reputation of Allentown Animal Care by fostering a
collaborative and professional environment. Minimum Qualifications:
Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or equivalent)
from an accredited program. Minimum of 3 years of experience
working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a
veterinary or animal care environment. Strong knowledge of
veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and animal handling
techniques. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in
Veterinary Technology or related field. Experience with electronic
medical records (EMR) systems and inventory management software.
Advanced training or certification in anesthesia, surgical
assistance, or emergency care. Previous experience in a leadership
role within a veterinary clinic or animal care facility. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client
education and team collaboration. Responsibilities: Supervise and
coordinate daily activities of veterinary technicians and support
staff to ensure smooth clinic operations. Assist veterinarians
during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures, ensuring
adherence to safety and care standards. Manage patient records,
prepare treatment plans, and administer medications as prescribed
by veterinarians. Train and mentor junior veterinary technicians,
providing guidance on clinical techniques and professional
development. Maintain and sterilize medical equipment, monitor
inventory of supplies, and ensure compliance with health and safety
regulations. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding
animal care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up
procedures. Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and
implement protocols that improve patient care and clinic
efficiency. Skills: The Lead Vet Technician utilizes clinical
skills daily to assist in medical procedures, ensuring animal
safety and comfort. Leadership and organizational skills are
essential for managing the veterinary technician team and
coordinating clinic operations efficiently. Communication skills
are employed to educate pet owners and collaborate with
